Research indicates that disabled consumers spend in excess of £95 billion a year in the United Kingdom, for the average business disabled customers may account for up to 20% of the customer base.*

A recent report commissioned by the Office for Disability issues and produced by Atkins Management   indicated that businesses with more of a focus on disabled consumers have seen an increase in sales and profitability,  have been able to achieve a strong position within their markets and gain a competitive advantage.

During a survey of disabled consumers and their spending habits it was revealed that 66% of disabled consumers chose businesses where they have received good service.  58% of the disabled consumers interviewed also revealed that how they are treated by a business affects the buying decisions of family and friends.
